Sometimes the small animals are not so small!
About Louisa the Vet
Hi, I’m Louisa, a small animal vet, Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine, diagnostic imaging enthusiast, mum, and the person behind “Louisa the Vet.”
I’ve worked in general practice for the past 13 years and genuinely love the variety, challenge and relationships that come with being a GP vet. I have a particular passion for internal medicine and diagnostic imaging, especially ultrasound, and I love helping vets feel more confident in everyday clinical practice!

Over the years, I started sharing cases, educational content and snippets of real vet life online because I wanted veterinary education to feel more approachable, relatable and honest.
Somewhere along the way, that grew into an amazing online community of vets, nurses, students and pet owners who simply love learning and supporting one another.

Balancing work and life
Becoming a mum completely changed my perspective on what success in this profession looks like for me. I still care deeply about progressing clinically and providing high standards of care, but I’ve also learnt how important it is to create a career that works alongside life outside of practice too.
A huge part of what I share now is about showing that you can continue to grow, thrive and love veterinary medicine, whilst also protecting your wellbeing, priorities and the people most important to you.
